The topic of most of my conversations these days seems to be on internship. So, I thought I'd update you all at once. I am on the last leg of my 5th grade placement. I have about 4 weeks left before I'm done. Graduation is May 9th. I've decided NOT to walk at graduation. I have what I feel like is a pretty good reason, though. For the past 2 years, while I've been in school, I feel my family has been slighted by my having so many college obligations. The day of my graduation is "Feasting Around the World" for the 3rd graders. Taylor will take part in that, and Hunter has a field trip to Mobile to tour the battleship on May 8th. I am so excited to be at the end of my schooling so that I can become a more active member of what's going on with my own children and not just everyone else's. My family has been AMAZINGLY supportive of me, but I've missed all the ballgames and practices that I care to miss on account of school. Tonight (Thur.), I hear that I missed Hunter pitch the best inning he's ever pitched. I, of course, was at class in Troy. Those days are coming to a close and the sooner the better if you ask me:-). I'll be glad for summer to come, so I can just be Mom for a while.

Hey Jennifer!! It's my planning time, and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet to check out my friends blogs:) You've been a great intern, and I know you'll make an even better teacher. I don't blame you at all for not walking. I remember my mom going back to college when we were in school, and she had to miss out on a lot of our activities. It was so nice when she finished and started teaching here at Straughn!
