Wow! Last night was Hunter's night. After 1 1/2 hours of travel ball practice, Hunter was the starting pitcher in the city league team that he and Taylor play on (the Rockies). The other team batted first and Hunter pitched 3 up 3 down. No hits. We came to bat and just about every would hit or get walked, they were all hitting great! Taylor got walked 4 times and ended up scoring 4 runs for the night. Hunter made a great hit his first time up to bat. I don't remember what base he got on, but it was good. Hunter pitched the 2nd inning and again---3 up 3 down. We came to bat again and did GREAT! Hunter hit a high one to the outfield and made an infield HOMERUN! The coach decided to let Hunter pitch the rest of the game, even though he won't be able to pitch at all in the next game. He walked 2 boys, but struck everyone else out and the runners on base never got to come in. Hunter's next at bat was a high ball to right field and bounced about 5 feet in front of the fence (I thought it was going to bounce over, but it didn't). That made his 2nd HOMERUN of the night. The score was a whole lot to zero at the beginning of the forth inning and Hunter pitched another 3 up 3 down inning. His teammate were going nuts and jumping all over him congratulating him and telling him what a good job he had done. It was a great night. Taylor was so happy for Hunter and just kept saying, "Hunter, you pitched a NO-HITTER." If it hadn't been for the 2 walks, Hunter would have pitched a perfect game. Needless to say, it was a great night of baseball for the Earnests. By the way, the final score was 20-0. Go Rockies!!!
